BMW R 1200 GS new shows

R 1200 GS models have enjoyed outstanding sales for BMW for almost a decade. Now, nine years after a complete overhaul, the BMW Motorrad revealed on Tuesday, October 2, the new BMW R 1200 GS (complete with video and everything else), which makes its premiere at Intermot 2012. After long rumored, and preceded by "photographs spies", switching to liquid cooling is not immediately evident in the new model. The BMW is keen to emphasize that their new Boxer has air and liquid cooling. More technical analysis of cooling liquid is subject to the future, for now let's leave the BMW spokesman explained: "the boxer engine in the new R 1200 GS continues to useair cooling and liquid, however, the cooling oil has been replaced by a mixture of water and glycol. This ensures a high level of heat absorption capacity of coolant more efficient heat dissipation ".

"Precision Cooling, so called (a principle similar to that used in Formula 1), involves only the elements of the engine to be quenched with coolant, which are particularly exposed to thermal stress. The engine continues to use air cooling, preserving the characteristic appearance of the opposing Twin boxer engine. The two radiators are small and are discreetly integrated, "he added. The "little engine" that BMW produces 125 horsepower at 7,700 rpm (7,750 in previous version), and has a torque of 12.75 kgf.m to 6,500 rpm instead of 12.24 to 6000.
